Bread Dressing

This is the dressing we made for Thanksgiving ’98

3cups chopped celery
2cups chopped onions
2 cups leek
1 cup tawny port
1 cup stock
sausages
bread crumbs
butter
salt, thyme, sage, pepper

 

Sautee the onions, leeks, & celery until wilted. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

Brown the sausages. Add to the bowl. Add bread cubes & toss.

Add the herbs. Add port and stock, and toss until blended. Put in casserole, and bake at 325 for 45 minutes, loosely covered.
