<kaleja> we we sitting directly in front of the ovens, so we watched
a guy
<kaleja> fondling steaks all night
<weevil> the counter is the most fun!
<kaleja> with dessert assembly to our left and entree plating
to our right
<shock> and the desserts we were at the DESSERTS
<kaleja> i said that!
<kaleja> and we wanted every single damn dessert that came off
the line
<shock> i know, they were just IMPRESSIVE
<shock> i had a sidecar

<shock> and then spinach and cream ravioli (two ravioli, each
almost
<shock> the size of my HAND, the spinach was barely wilted inside)
<shock> with chantarelles and some creamy sauce laced with truffled
<shock> veal jus
<kaleja> and i had manhattan and foie gras with mango & pineapple
(russelll
<kaleja> loves the fruit-and-meat thing)

<kaleja> and the foie was sooooo goooooood
<shock> with some kind of rum syrup
<kaleja> mango rum syrup!
<kaleja> i think i moaned
<kaleja> then our main course, i had duck breast with duck cracklins
and
<kaleja> duck sausage and rhubarb compote
<shock> and for entree i had grilled dorado with edamame and giant
<shock> shiitake and chinese long beans and aromatic thai herb
salad
<shock> and a wee bit of thai red curry sauce around the plate
<shock> you did moan
<kaleja> (i thought one of those ducks shoulda been a goose)

<kaleja> we didn't rub the food all over each other

<shock> and i had a nice vouvray with dinner ;)
<kaleja> we shared a st. louis gooey butter cake for dessert
<shock> i got caught feeding russell herbsalad with my fingers

<shock> it had calvados ice cream, and little fresh currants
<kaleja> the dessert did, not the herb salad
<shock> yes yes the dessert did
<shock> and we shared an irish coffee
<shock> and then they took all the plates away
<kaleja> and i said "you know, only one thing could make this
better"
<kaleja> whipped out the ringbox
<kaleja> opened it
<kaleja> and said "...and that's if you would agree to marry me"

<kaleja> i love that the rings are made by a geek with a computer-controlled
<kaleja> milling machine

<shock> it's a natural sapphire; really dark
